Fernando Magdaleno
Born: Bronx, NY 1963
Son of Cuban and Puerto Rican immigrants
Education: Bronx Public Schools, Northeastern University
Self-taught
Raised in a South Bronx city housing project, Fernando attended college in the mid 80's, but left to work full-time. As drawing was always a fulfilling escape, he took it to what he saw as the next level and began to paint.
Over the next two decades, during a journey that took him to the bottom and back, he opened the door to his inner condition through painting. Having come full circle, and with a strong sense of his own history, he begins again with a new vision and a new body of work.
